A long time ago

Actually I think it was only a month ago. But it was before summer was over and before school started and sucked the life out of me in 8 short days. We took the kids to a ghetto amusement park and they had the time of their short little lives. It's times like these that make me so happy we have little kids. And also make me wish they were all older. It was fun to watch them run from ride to ride. It wasn't fun holding a baby who wanted to be in his bed. It was fun seeing the huge smiles on the kids' faces as they spun, whipped, floated, bumped etc. It wasn't fun telling a 3 year old he was too short for some rides. It was fun watching the kids try to maneuver through a glass maze. It wasn't fun helping 2 kids use the bathroom while holding a baby. Gross. I'm pretty sure we'll trek out there again next year and have another night of fun!

First (and second) Day of School

I'll tell you what, the first day of school was very exciting. So exciting that I forgot to take a few pictures. The second day of school was also exciting, and I got the missing shots of the kids and their teachers. Not a tear was shed. Except maybe from this guy:

He doesn't like being away from his beautiful bride. He might have mumbled something about not feeling ready for another year, but I can't be sure.

The only thing Howie was excited about was that he would get to see his friends again.

Maybe a couple of us were happy to see this one in the care of someone else for a part of the day.

We were all up and ready to go on time. I'm documenting this to show that I did it at least once.

And everyone's first impressions of their teachers appears to be favorable. Let's hope it's a great year!
