Here are a few pictures of our Halloween festivities.
Donovan and Howie used their Mario and Luigi costumes from 2 years ago. This picture doesn't show how short the overalls are - some major high water action. But you can see on Donovan how the straps barely fit over his shoulders. Nina is a flamenco dancer using the dress we bought her in Spain.
Cameron, the ferocious lion.
Donovan broke Nina's pumpkin while using it as a soccer ball, so Nina knocked Donovan's pumpkin off the table.
Matt uses this wig one way or another every year.
Poor Howie had the croup today and had to miss his preschool party, and trick-or-treating. Donovan and Nina put in some extra mileage and brought Howie back some candy.

Sunday best
I took these pictures before the kids' primary program last week. Sometimes I just don't understand how anyone could misbehave when they are dressed so nicely. Certainly I'm not talking about these 4 kids! (to appease the masses, I had to post a picture of each of the kids holding Cameron)
you can almost see the mischievous plotting in Howie's eyes.

Out with a bang
The boys finished up their soccer seasons yesterday and it was a big day for Howie. He started out a little timid, not too sure how to go about getting the ball from other players. He would run alongside the cluster of kids, kind of watching the action. As the season progressed, so did his level of aggression. He started elbowing his way into the bunch of boys, coming out with the ball. The last few weeks he scored a goal or two in each game, but yesterday, he scored 7 goals! I think he enjoyed his first soccer season.
I think this picture is hilarious. Every time Howie prepares to kick the ball, he gets in this stance. Not too sure where he learned it, but the kids on his team all decided it works.

We finally did it
After a combined 62 years of living on this earth, Matt and I caved in and watched The Princess Bride for the first time. We both thought it was okay, maybe all the hype left us disappointed, or maybe we just need to watch it a few more times to fully appreciate it. But there you have it, we have seen The Princess Bride.

Homecoming Festivities
Matt's school had their homecoming this past week and one way or another, we all participated in the festivities.
Matt got to play in a volleyball tournament with some of his students. It's their school's male version of powderpuff.
Matt played in a heavy metal air guitar band during the assembly. Brian, I think Matt really misses you.
And the rest of us went to the parade. Any guesses why this is the kids' favorite part of homecoming?
